What are hypertrophic scars and what are keloids?
Hypertrophic scars tend to grow raised, reddened and sometimes painful. Keloids tend not only to rise, but also to widen beyond the scar margins, and are more persistent over time. Both develop in the healing phase, starting 3 weeks after the wound, as a consequence of excessive collagen production that may invade the intact skin of the area around the wound.
MASTER·AID® RESOLVE® SCARS
When can i use Master·Aid® Resolve® Scars? At what stage of wound healing?
Use when the wound is perfectly closed and dry, generally from 21 days after the wound, during the initiated wound healing stage.
How does it work?
It uses a semi-occlusive, moisturizing mechanism. This physical mechanism keeps the temperature of the healing zone constant and prevents the loss of moisture from the tissues, by limiting excess collagen production by the skin.
What is the difference between Master·Aid® Resolve® Scars Silicone Gel and Silicone Plaster?
They are both silicone-based medical devices and work by keeping the scar moisturised. Silicone Gel is a transparent gel that is easy to apply and particularly suitable for small wounds on delicate parts of the body, such as the face. Silicone Plaster, is a silicone-based plaster available in different sizes, which adheres to the skin and is particularly suitable for the treatment of larger wounds. Silicone Plaster has a UV protection of up to 96%. Silicon Gel and Silicon Plaster are suitable for the treatment of wounds of any kind (surgical, caesarean section, abrasions, grazes, burns, animal bites, lacerations, cuts) on any part of the body.

What does it look like? Is it transparent?
It is a transparent, non-greasy gel that leaves the skin dry.
How is it applied correctly?
Clean and dry the scar well, apply a small amount of gel to the scar evenly and massage to obtain a thin layer.
How many times a day should the treatment be repeated?
Apply 3 or 4 times a day.
Can i use make-up or wear clothes after applying Master·Aid® Resolve® Silicone Gel?
Yes, after it has completely dried.
MASTER·AID® RESOLVE® SILICONE PLASTER
When can i use Master·Aid® Resolve® Silicone Plaster?
As soon as the wound is perfectly closed and dry and the healing phase has begun (at least 21 days after the wound).
How is it applied?
Clean and dry the scar well and surrounding skin. Open the pouch of Resolve® Silicon Plaster and store in the pack. Apply Resolve® Silicon Plaster to the scar. Resolve® Silicon Plaster can be removed and reused later, and can be washed with warm running water and mild soap.
What does it look like?
Silicon plaster is skin-coloured and can be cut to fit your needs.
Can i wear clothing over Master·Aid® Resolve® Silicone Patch?
Yes: once applied, Silicon Plaster adheres to the skin and can be worn under clothing.
For how many hours a day should i keep the scar treated with Master·Aid® Resolve® Silicone Plaster?
Resolve® Silicon Plaster can be applied to the skin all day long.
For optimal results use it for at least 12 hours, up to a maximum of 23 hours per day.
Can I use Master·Aid® Resolve® Silicone Patch during sporting activity?
Resolve® Silicone Plaster should be applied to perfectly dry skin. In the event of excessive perspiration due to sporting activity for example, fix Resolve® Silicone Plaster with an adhesive plaster or other fixation device (cohesive bandage, tubular net), or prefer application at rest.
Can i take a shower with Master·Aid® Resolve® Silicone Plaster?
Remove the plaster before showering. Wash and store it as instructed, then reapply it when the skin is dry again.
How can i wash it?
Resolve® Silicone Plaster can be washed with warm running water and mild soap (this procedure improves product adhesion and hygiene). To dry Resolve® Silicone Plaster, lay it on a clean, dry cloth with the adhesive side up. Wash the plaster daily.
Can i reuse it? For how many times?
Resolve® Silicon Plaster can be reused several times. The number of uses varies from person to person and depends on the area of application. When Resolve® Silicone Plaster starts to lose its adhesive capacity and deteriorate, it should be replaced. The estimated shelf life, with proper use and storage, is approximately three weeks.
How and where should it be stored when it is not in use?
Place the transparent film over the adhesive side of the Resolve® Silicon Plaster and place it inside the protective bag. This way you will keep it in good condition until you use it again.
